Fireworks

I just got hit with a peculiar thought. On the fourth of july, and many of the days leading up to it and trailing away from it, people in the state of Ohio like to set off various sorts of fireworks as a way to celebrate our nation's heritage... or maybe just to see things blow up... the reason why isn't important. For those of you who don't know, almost all fireworks are illegal in Ohio. Actually, anything that flies in the air or is designed to explode when used is illegal without a permit, which is only provided to licensed contractors. Of course, inconsistencies in the laws provide for a situation where vendors may sell fireworks to you but you may not use them legaly in state, the vendor is supposed to have you sign an affidavit stating that what you bought will be taken out of state. What sence does that make?
It also surprises me that, while I am not legaly permitted to set off fireworks outside my home on my property, I am legaly allowed to obtain the proper lisencing to purchase a glock and carry it wherever I go. What the hell?? Okay, recap here... I'm not allowed to blow my own hands off or risk setting my own home on fire but I'm allowed to carry a deadly weapon around consealed all over the state. I guess it is a good thing I'm not some psycho killer guy.
I guess I'm just a tad confused about this, but thats okay. What else is new right?
